Promotional Tools for your Mobile App
What Are Mobile App Promotional Tools and How do They Help Your Business?
These tools help you efficiently share your app’s download page with customers with advanced digital marketing techniques. The promotional tools on iBuildApp are completely free and quickly push your iTunes and Google Play Store links to social networks, your website, emails and more.
The tools help your business by bringing together the most effective marketing options in one area. They utilize landing pages, QR codes, website banners, social sharing and embedded app previews.
Overall, these promotional tools put your app in front of your customers with just a few clicks. They also make it easy for customers to click or scan on their phone and download the app within seconds. When your app gets downloaded more, you can share promotions, events and contact pages with a wider customer base.
How Can You Add and Use Promotional Tools in Your Mobile App?
Step 1
To start, login to your iBuildApp profile or create an account.
Step 2
Select a template to get started with your app, or go to the My Apps area on the iBuildApp dashboard to view the apps you have worked on in the past.
Step 3
Locate the app you want to use and click on the Promote button.
Step 4
This pushes you to a page that features five different ways to promote your mobile app. Start with the first option, called Share Your App. This allows you to click on different social and email outlets to share your app.
Click on the Facebook and Twitter buttons to create a status and share it with your followers. Click the Share button to send it off to your accounts.
The Email button lets you punch in an email address and send a download link to individuals.
There is also a LinkedIn button to share on that network, along with a green button that lets you share on other outlets. Scroll through this list of options to open up your network and share your app’s link through as many platforms as possible. There are dozens of options on this list such as Google +, StumbleUpon, Reddit, and Digg.
Step 5
Click on the Embed Your Feature Into Your Website or Blog tab. This area gives you the code needed to share your app’s look and feel on a website or blog. For example, you might create a blog post that tells readers about your new app. What better way to explain the app than by giving them an interactive demonstration in the blog post?
Copy the code given here and paste it into the backend of your website.
Step 6
Click on the Get QR Code for Your App tab. This automatically generates a QR code that users can scan with their phones. Once the code is scanned it gives them a link to download the app.
There are three tabs to walk through when setting up your QR codes. The first is the App Preview Page, which allows you to modify the size of your QR code, copy and paste the code into your webpage or download the QR code image. Place this QR code image in emails, your website or any other online or offline marketing materials.
The Second tab is an area to paste in your iTunes App Store Link, and the third tab is where you can paste in your Google Play Store link. If you don’t have these, just leave them blank and use the initial App Preview Page.
In order to publish your app on the iTunes and Google Play Store (and receive the links needed for the QR codes,) click on the Publish button at the top of the page.
Step 7
Click on the Create a Custom Banner for Your App tab. This area helps you create a catchy banner to promote the app on your website.
Step 8
Type in some banner text so users know what you’re offering. Create a nice call-to-action to improve downloads.
Step 9
Modify the ribbon or simply remove it. This is a short area to tell people about a promotion or that your app is free.
Step 10
Select your favorite banner style from the options given.
Step 11
Click the Create Banner button. Select whether you want a banner for mobile devices or for your website, and choose the dimensions.
Step 12
View the banner preview, then select if you want the banner in HTML or image format.
Step 13
The final tab for promoting your app is the Create a Landing Page option. This automatically creates a sleek landing page to put on your site.
Type in the app description, which should include the best features from your app and how your customers can benefit from downloading it.
Step 14
Paste in the iTunes and Google Play Store URLs if you have them.
Step 15
Click the Preview Page button to view what your landing page looks like. Link to this page through search engines, emails, your website, or any marketing materials you may have. Just grab the URL from your browser and use that.
