We are glad to let our users know that iBuildApp platform is used at universities and colleges in USA to teach students how to build mobile apps (iPhone and Android). Today we are featuring David Reader who is a Professional-in-Residence in the Department of Communication and Journalism at Suffolk University. He teaches digital filmmaking and video production courses, including a new course in Digital Post-Production. He is a native of Southern California and has worked as a cameraman on over twenty-five feature films such as “Driving Miss Daisy”, “Fried Green Tomatoes”, “Ace Ventura 2-When Nature Calls” and “RoboCop III”. Prior to joining Suffolk University, he taught film and media studies in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Boston. Professor Reeder’s research interests include:
• The evolution of ‘story’ in the digital age, particularly changes that are occurring with the development of unique smartphone and tablet delivery applications.
• Camera culture, including the technological advancement of image acquisition & media delivery systems and their impact on the narrative structure of films

To briefly summarize, I am using iBuild app in some of my Communications & Journalism classes at Suffolk University to provide the students with an easy introduction into the world of interactive storytelling and mobile development. As more and more media outlets are including mobile versions of their content, the ability of our students and new media professionals to use products like iBuildApp to author rich media has become an essential skill. IBuildApp is the right tool for introducing those skills.
